On September 26, 2024, the Cambodian Ministry of Environment held the annual national environmental protection work commendation conference. Kamchay hydroelectric  project  won the "Environmental Friendly Enterprise Award", which was awarded to the  contributions in the field of "environmental protection", "Social social responsibility",and "Governance- corporate governance" aspects.  The project environmental restoration is completed with high standards, which plays an important role in forest protection, wildlife protection, fish stocking, soil and water conservation in the basin.
