On August 10, the Nam Ngum 5 hydropower station in Laos reached 5,000 days of continuous safe and stable operation. As the first BOT hydropower project invested and constructed by POWERCHINA in Laos, it has generated over 5.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity since its commercial operation began in December 2012. The project has boosted local employment and achieved coordinated development of economic, social, and environmental benefits.
